Mason Matos (2030 3B, Woodbridge, VA) showed the upside on the mound, running the fastball up to 83 and paired it with a low- 70s slider with two-plane break. The RHP has an athletic delivery with feel to spin the fastball.
Kaiden Taveras (2030 C, Vass, NC) impressed on the mound racking up three strikeouts in his one inning. The RHP showed a three pitch mix with the fastball topping out at 80 with some arm-side life. Mixed in a curveball with 11-5 shape with solid vertical depth and some horizontal bite and a change-up in the upper- 60s with some vertical depth.
Brayden Russ (2030 OF, Stafford, VA) showed the two-way upside through his two games. The RHH collected two extra base hits including a loud home run over the wall in left-center field and a backside double off the base of the right field wall. Also ran the fastball up to 76 with good spin and developing feel to spin the breaking ball with 11-5 shape.
Jackson Busby (2030 SS, Upper Marlboro, MD) showed off the barrel control on Sunday. The SHH added a loud double to deep dead center. Showed some juice and carry to the middle-of-the-field.
Diego Montilla (2030 SS, Fairfax, VA) showed off the power upside, belting a double into the opposite field gap. The RHH showed good bat speed from a flatter bat plane and some feel to impact and drive the ball to both gaps.
Mark Taylor (2030 SS, High Point, NC) wrapped up the day with a loud barrel down the left field line for a double. Showed the feel to impact and carry the ball to the pull-side and pull-side gap.
