Dalton Guthrie (2014, SS, 2B/OF, Venice HS) is the table setter for the Indians going 2-5 with a double, triple, and scoring twice. He displayed a simple fundamental swing, short to the ball and uses his hands well. Dalton is the type of lead-off hitter every coach wants squaring the ball consistently to the middle of the field with high OBP.
Michael Rivera (2014, C/3B, Venice HS) was a hard out for the Titans going 4-5 with a double and recording 4 of the 9 RBI's by the Indians in the game. He once again shows a confident approach at the plate showing good bat speed, good extension with a fluid stroke making consistent hard contact.
Ryan Miller (2014, C, OF/RHP, Venice HS) pitched 3 1/3 innings giving up 0 runs, on 5 hits, striking out 2 Titans. He pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a tight release hiding the ball well. He has a good balanced delivery and uses his lower 1/2. His fastball range was 84-87 MPH. He also went 1-4 at the plate.
Nick Longhi (2013, 1B, OF/LHP, Venice HS) The LSU commit got 2 2/3 innings of work in on the mound giving up 0 runs, 0 hits and striking out 6. He has a slow paced delivery with a compact arm action and hides the ball well. His fastball was 85-89 MPH topping out at 90 MPH, curveball showed good bite and depth, and had some feel and sink for his change up. He also went 1-4 at the plate with 2 RBI's.
Ryan Young (2014, C, RHP/3B, Blessed Trinity) pitched 2 2/3 innings for the Titans giving up 2 runs, 0 earned on 6 hits, striking out 4. He pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a short quick arm action. Has a balanced delivery, throws an 11/5 curveball with decent spin and shape to it. His FB ranged from 78-86 MPH. Out of the 59 pitches he threw 43 were strikes (72.9%).
Nathaniel Maggio (2013, C, RHP/C, Blessed Trinity) was 2-3 at the plate with a double and a walk. He showed us again that he can consistently square the ball up making hard contact displaying good bat speed, extension and leverage.
