10-Royal vs. 9-Gold Game Highlights

8/17/2025

Devon Hester (2029 3B, Chicago, IL) had an impressive day both at the dish and on the mound, tallying a knock and showing some solid "stuff" in his outing. Hester ran the fastball up to 79 in this one and projects to continue to add velocity as he develops. Hester tallied 4 strikeouts on the mound in just 2 innings.

Fabian Bush (2029 SS, Aurora, IL) had a solid showing here on day 3, showing off the pop in the bat with a double and also throwing 2 clean innings on the mound. Bush worked consistently around the zone with multiple pitches.

Kingston Dumes (2030 1B, Indianapolis, IN) put together a solid day at the plate with a couple base hits in 2 at-bats, also tallying both RBIs for the royal squad. Dumes works a strong swing with the solid frame, showing potential to be a power bat in the coming years.

Lucien Vachon (2031 SS, Elmhurst, IL) showed off the obvious bat to ball skills, getting the barrel to a fastball for an RBI single. Vachon works a simple swing with an up-the-middle approach, and extends through the baseball well.

Michael Baranda (2029 OF, Bolingbrook, IL) had a good day at the dish on day 2 of games, working on the barrel in two at-bats for a 2-2 day with a single and a double. Baranda has a simple swing with solid barrel skill.

9-Gold vs. 10-Royal Game Blog

8/16/2025

Will Buckingham (2030 LHP, Libertyville, IL) showed a ton of upside on the mound, running the fastball (1501 RPM) up to 73. The left-handed pitcher paired it with a low-60s curveball (1767 RPM) with 1-7 shape and good vertical depth.

Fabian Bush (2029 SS, Aurora, IL) showed off the barrel feel getting it front and sending a solid line drive into left-center field. The right-handed hitter gets on plane well with some feel to impact the ball.

Nick Dazzo (2030 OF, St Charles, IL) impressed during game action collecting a barrel to left field for a knock. The right-handed hitter turns well and gets the barrel out front with some strength at contact. Added another loud barrel for a flyout to left field.

Evan Mathews (2028 SS, Munith, MI) showed good upside on the mound. The right-handed pitcher ran the fastball (1754 RPM) up to 73 with good tail and arm-side run. Paired it with an 11-5 shaped curveball (1817 RPM) in the low-60s.

Luke Essary (2030 SS, Hawthorn Woods, IL) got the barrel out front and sent a line drive into left-center field for a double. Got on plane with an elevated heater to lift and drive it. Works uphill through contact with some feel for the barrel.

Luis Salgado (2030 2B, Chicago, IL) showed the upside on the mound, running the fastball (1721 RPM) up to 78 with some arm-side tail. Paired it with a curveball (2050 RPM) in the low-60s with more 11-5 shape and solid vertical depth.

Batting Practice Highlights

8/16/2025

Lucien Vachon (2031 SS, Elmhurst, IL) showed a blend of developing swing mechanics and bat speed in BP. Athletic swing patterns and quality swings on the baseball today.

Devon Hester (2029 3B, Chicago, IL) showed athletic movements in the swing during BP today. Has developing bat speed with the ability to hold angles and get to the barrel.

Austin Prinz (2029 SS, Haslett, MI) showed a compact swing with developing bat speed in BP. Got on time and used the whole field consistently.

Christopher Morrison (2030 SS, Plainfield, IL) an athletic mover in the batter's box. Shows developing bat speed and the ability to handle the barrel at the plate. But together a consistent BP round hitting multiple line drives.

Kingston Dumes (2030 1B, Indianapolis, IN) showed some natural strength with a well connected swing in BP. Consistently swinging the bat with intent and on plane. Present ability to drive the baseball to the gaps.
