Batting Practice Highlights: Gateway
Luis Salgado (2030, Chicago, Ill.) took some good hacks during BP. He was able to show a feel to create length through contact. His best results came working pull-side, and he showed a clue for the actions to be on time and stay through it. He worked the whole field, but finished strong, working pull-side.
Bryan Hernandez (2029, Holland, Mo.) took some good hacks in BP, creating good jump off the barrel, and he was able to throw the barrel head well. He produced some loud swings and was able to impact it, working up the middle. He can also work the gaps well.
Josh Marcy (2029, Edmond, Okla.) had a slight coil to his load that allowed him to generate some bat speed and strength at impact. He took some good hacks during BP and was able to work pull-side and back up the middle for his best results during his round of swings.
Easton Huffaker (2029, Springdale, Ark.) swung it well from the left side of the plate during BP with deeper hands and some coil to it. He had some length to impact it out in front, and he was able to hammer balls working pull-side during his round of BP swings. He had some strength and showed some juice.
Jacob Jercinovic (2029, Arnold, Mo.) showed some jump off the barrel, turning hard, and impacting it well. He stayed inside it and was able to show a good barrel whip working through it. He hit some balls really hard, working pull-side during his round of BP swings.
Oliver Rhee (2029, St. Louis, Mo.) showed a ton of feel to whip through contact, turning hard with plenty of bat speed that projects really well. He showed good intent and hit balls really hard all over the field. He took a really loud round of swings overall.
Evan Cowdrey (2029, Bella Vista, Ark.) was able to throw the hands through the zone and create some lift, with strength off the barrel. He impacted well to all fields, and his best results were working pull-side during a round of BP swings. He turned hard and impacted well, with some loud swings throughout, showing a projectable operation in the box.
Aiden Villariny (2030, Franklin Park, Ill.) had a smooth right-handed swing on display during his round of BP swings. He was able to show some strength off it and stay shorter to it. His best results came while working back up the middle and gap-to-gap throughout the round. He delivers the barrel well, and he has a good whip off it.
Aaron Hoerman (2029, Gluckstadt, Miss.) threw the hands to it well, and he was able to get the barrel on it and drive it well, with a good round of BP swings. He had some whip to the hands and was able to work back up the middle and backside into the gap for his best results during his round of BP swings.
Owen Krantz (2029, Lake Ozark, Mo.) showed a really good round of BP swings, staying on it well and driving it gap-to-gap for his best results. He showed hard turns with some whip to the hands and was able to lift the ball well. He had a good round and was able to be on the barrel, with fast hands and traits that project really well moving forward.
Caleb Lin (2029, University City, Mo.) showed some good swings from the left side during his round of BP swings. He had good hand speed and bat speed, being able to impact it well and drive the ball back up the middle. He also worked the backside gap with some loud results during his round of BP swings.
Liam Walker (2030, Mount Vernon, Ohio) showed a good feel to be on the barrel during his round of BP swings. It was a simple stroke working through contact. He produced some well-struck balls working pull-side, but he used the whole field. There was some barrel whip and impact strength that made for a good round for the right-handed hitter.
Lucas McNamer (2029, Collinsville, Ill.) took a really good round of BP today, showing some bat speed and impact, being able to lift the ball and do some damage. He had a lot of really well-struck balls working from gap-to-gap, showing feel to lift the ball.
Lofton Wilkins (2029, Decatur, Ark.) took a good round of BP swings, showing good bat speed with an organized move working through contact. He was able to create some length through contact and stay through the ball well. His best results came when working back up the middle and into the gaps.
