One of the reasons the MLB Draft is so fascinating year in and year out stems directly from the stories of the players’ individual paths to where they are today as prospects. Some of those paths are easy to trace, like Tyler Beede’s. Beede is a player we’ve known about since early in his high school career and his every movement has been tracked since then. Then, there are players like Sean Newcomb, who at first glance would seem to have emerged completely out of thin air. But, that just shows us that you never know where a top prospects might come from.
