SURPRISE, Ariz. – Washington’s Jeff Brigham is much more than just a pitcher and rising right-handed prospect.

Ask Washington head coach Lindsay Meggs who the most athletic player on the team is, and shockingly, the answer won’t be an outfielder. Ask Meggs who on the team might just have the most advanced basketball skills. In this case, it’s not some 6-foot-5, gargantuan first baseman.

No, that title belongs to Brigham, who stands at just 6-foot, 183 pounds.

“The big thing about Jeff is his velocity, and that’s why scouts are flooding to our games,” Meggs said. “But what most people don’t know is that Jeff is a tremendous athlete. He’s the best athlete on our team. He’s the fastest runner and I’m pretty sure he has the best vertical leap on the team, too.
