The National Showcase in itself is a top prospect event, so it's difficult to limit the number of position prospects listed below to just over 80. Several players are not mentioned on this list despite being highest level prospects. There is a good possibility that many of the players not mentioned on this list could become early draft picks, college All-Americans, or both. The High School Class of 2014 already appears to be very strong with the amount of talent that participated at this year's National Showcase, and like past years, Perfect Game will continue to follow this class right up until next year’s draft.

SS/RHP Nicholas Gordon (Olympia HS, Windemere, FL): Gordon is a magical defensive middle infielder whose skill level and feel for the game is even higher than his tool level. He showed signs that he’s getting stronger at the plate and already has advanced barrel skills. Forget that he throws 94 off the mound, that’s just window dressing at this point.

C/OF Alex Jackson
(Rancho Bernardo HS, Escondido, CA): The top ranked player on the PG 2014 rankings going into the National, Jackson showed off his huge physical tools in all aspects of the game before having to leave early after aggravating a previous thumb injury.

SS/3B Jack Flaherty
(Harvard-Westlake HS, Burbank, CA): Flaherty stands out not only for his athletic 6-4/205 build but for how easily he plays the game. His running 6.37 in the 60 was kind of absurd, though, considering the rest of his tool set and his size.

OF/RHP Michael Gettys
(Gainesville HS, GA): Gettys has the same type of tightly wound quick-twitch athleticism and tools as top 2013 prospect and fellow Georgia native Clint Frazier, only on a bigger body. Only Frazier couldn’t throw mid-90s off the mound (or chose not to, unlike Gettys). Running 6.4 and throwing 100 mph from the outfield doesn’t happen often.

OF/1B Braxton Davidson
(T.C. Roberson HS, Arden, NC): The left handed hitting North Carolina native could make a case for being the top pure power hitter in the 2014 class. But just as impressive was his improved athleticism and arm strength, which bodes well for a future as a corner outfielder rather than a first baseman.
