Once you get beyond Jonathan Gray and Mark Appel, it hasn’t been an easy ride for many of the highly touted college arms in this year’s draft class. Even the players who have had performances that might look impressive on paper have left scouts with more questions than answers throughout this spring. Righties like Jonathon Crawford and Ryne Stanek fall into that category. Then there are others like Sean Manaea who have been dinged up just enough to make it difficult to evaluate them. And, then there is Ryan Eades, who has seemingly given scouts different looks all spring, depending on when you’ve seen him.
