If not for a certain pitcher by the name of Sean Manaea, Kevin Ziomek may have been the left-hander scouts left the Cape Cod League talking about the most. Ziomek shut it down in mid-July, and as a result may not be getting all the credit he deserves for what was a phenomenal summer on the Cape. And, it is the progress he’s made over the course of the last calendar year that he deserves the most credit for. Ziomek had his share of struggles the previous summer on the Cape, and he followed that with a less than stellar sophomore campaign. But, everything seemed to click during the summer of 2012 and that performance has positioned him as one of the elite lefties in the 2013 draft class.
