There are certain players that take advantage of the stage they play on, and some that completely take that opportunity by the throat. Eric Jagielo could have been buried on a loaded Harwich Mariners’ roster in the Cape Cod League, a roster that included Austin Wilson, Phil Ervin, JaCoby Jones, and Brian Ragira. On a team that deep, playing time wasn’t even necessarily automatic if he didn’t perform early in the season. Perform he did, however, hitting .417 with 5 home runs in his first 15 games on the Cape, quickly cementing him as one of the elite hitters to watch in the league.
