South Carolina apparently doesn't mind having a target on its chest.

Just a week after taking over the top spot in the Perfect Game Top 25 rankings, the Gamecocks stay in familiar territory after having an excellent week that included an SEC road series win over Mississippi State.

The rest of the top five includes Virginia, Vanderbilt, Florida and Texas A&M, while the top ten also includes Texas, Oregon State and new top ten entrants Florida State, Georgia Tech and Arizona State.

Miami made the biggest improvement this week. The Hurricanes vaulted all the way from No. 25 to No. 14 following a road series win over North Carolina. Troy, meanwhile, moved from No. 24 to No. 19 after sweeping an important Sun Belt series from Western Kentucky, while Oklahoma State dropped from No. 15 to No. 20 after getting swept at Texas A&M.

Rice and Arizona exited the rankings this week. The Owls entered just last week, but are gone after dropping a Conference USA road series to UAB. Arizona, meanwhile, lost a tough road series to Oregon over the weekend.

Stanford and Auburn entered the rankings. The Cardinal is back in the rankings after a one-week hiatus after taking an important Pac-10 series over UCLA, while Auburn entered after winning a home series over Mississippi.

The conference breakdowns are as follows: Pac-10 5, ACC 5, SEC 5, Big 12 4 and Conference USA, MWC, Big West, Sun Belt, Atlantic Sun and WAC all with one representative.

The Perfect Game Top 25 is released each Monday during the season, and always will include an additional listing of 25 teams to watch and a live chat with college baseball managing editor Kendall Rogers.
