They were founded by current team President and Senior Head Coach Marc Cuseta in 1982. Their website (www.baysideyankees.com) lists an incredible total of 85 championships that the Yankees have won over the years. It makes one wonder where Cuseta stores all the hardware from those tournament victories. The following is taken from a press release issued by the Yankees this past summer about Cuseta and some of the milestones he has reached. Bayside Yankees Senior Americans Head Coach Marc Cuseta recorded his 1400th career victory last night when the Senior Americans defeated the Midland Redskins (OH) 5-2 at Georgia Tech in Atlanta, GA. Cuseta, the co-founder and president of the Bayside Yankees organization is in his 22nd season as Senior Head Coach now has and overall record of 1400-466 (a .750 winning percentage). Cuseta has three National Championships and twelve Regional Crowns to his credit. Under Cuseta's tutelage, 90 former Bayside Yankees have gone on to sign professional baseball contracts, 18 reaching the major league level. "I'm pleased that this milestone victory came in a great setting", said Cuseta. "Defeating the "John Wooden" of amateur baseball, Mr. Joe Hayden of the nationally renowned Midland Redskins (OH), is an accomplishment enough and doing it in a great baseball facility (Georgia Tech) makes it that much more sweet." Current Senior Americans Associate Head Coach Willie Bosque, a former four year standout player with the Bayside Yankees (1993-1996) commented, "It has been a great honor to coach along side Marc. Through the years, he has worked very hard to make the Bayside Yankees one of the premiere amateur baseball programs in the country. His tireless work ethic and dedication has benefited many young players, including myself." The Senior Americans are currently on their 15 game southeastern road trip. After completing play in the "Rawlings East Cobb Baseball Classic" in Atlanta, GA on Sunday, June 29th, they will travel to Nashville, TN and begin play in the "Vanderbilt Invitational Tournament" on Tuesday, July 1st vs. the East Cobb Yankees (GA) at Vanderbilt University at 6PM. The 2003 Bayside Yankees “Senior American” team finished their summer schedule with a record of 43-15 and won the prestigious CABA Senior World Series Championship held in Houston, Texas, beating the Midland Indians in the championship game. Their fall team finished with a 26-15-5 record, including many games against Junior College squads. The Yankees finished pool play at the WWBA World Championships in Jupiter with a 2-1-1 record, narrowly missing the medal round due to a loss to eventual 3rd place finisher, the Houston Heat. The organization sponsors 4 other teams in addition to their top traveling squad, a Senior “National” team, 2 junior teams and a sophomore team. Players from the 2003 summer team who graduated with the Class of 2003 are attending schools such as Clemson, Arizona State, Arizona, Seton Hall, Vanderbilt, Old Dominion, St. John’s and the U.S. Naval Academy, among others. That college list is missing 2 premium draft picks, 3B Eric Duncan, the New York Yankees 1st round pick, and SS Nate Spears, the 5th round pick of the Baltimore Orioles. Overall, 10 present or alumni Yankees were selected in the 2003 professional draft. Cuseta is optimistic that his 2004 team will be able to continue on in the Yankees tradition. Top returning players from the 2004 class include C Robert Yodice (signed with Florida Atlantic), OF Mike McKenna (St. Joseph’s), SS David Macias (Vanderbilt), LHP Keith Christensen (Arizona State) and RHP Carlton Smith. Cuseta adds that RHP Nick Christiani (’05, Seton Hall Prep, NJ) is a blossoming star from the 2005 class. The Yankees host the New York Liberty Tournament every summer. This year’s dates are July 15-18. A total of 18 former Yankee players have played in the Major Leagues, including such notables as SS Walt Weiss, C/OF B.J. Surhoff, RHP Billy Koch, RHP Steve Karsay, OF Rocco Baldelli, RHP Jim Mecir, Inf Tony Graffanino, LHP Pedro Borbon Jr. and RHP Peter Munro.

Asher Contreras (2030 | Las Vegas, NV) The 5-foot-10, 170-pound right-handed hitter and outfielder was one of the most dangerous hitters in the tournament for Wow Factor Nv 2030, stuffing the stat sheet while displaying an impressive combination of power and speed. He finished the weekend with 9 hits, including two doubles and a home run, while driving in seven runs and scoring five more. Performance Baseball Rolls On

Kinley Kitchens
Article Image
Championship teams often reveal themselves when the game isn’t going their way. Performance Baseball 2028/Milwaukee Brewers Scout Team did exactly that. Trailing Florida Burn 2028 Scout through four innings, the Brewers refused to panic. Instead, they relied on timely hitting, consistent pitching, and an unselfish approach at the plate, rallying a five-run fifth inning before pulling away for a 9-5 victory to clinch their spot in the semifinals. The comeback was fueled by contributions throughout the lineup. Six different players drove in runs, including two RBIs each from Aiden Capobianco and Cameron Massey, while Matthew Heredia, Parker Weston, Ethan Smith, and Aj Bonnette each added an RBI of their own. On the mound, Derek Wenzel set the tone with 3.2 solid innings before Ethan Smith shut the door in relief, helping preserve the comeback victory. Although the Brewers have had a...

JK Select Hawaii capped off an impressive tournament run by defeating GBG Vegas 14u Red14-4 in the championship game on Sunday at Goodyear Ballpark, claiming the 14u West World Series title. From the opening pitch, JK Select controlled the pace of the game. The offense jumped out early, scoring 6 runs in the 1st inning after timely hits from MVP Sean Shindo and Kade Manarpaac. The early lead gave the pitching staff confidence as they worked efficiently through the opposing lineup. “I've worked hard to get better at my game for the past few months; it means a lot that I did well and performed in a tournament like this” said Shindo. Starting pitcher Maddox Prones turned in a strong performance, allowing 3 runs while striking out 5 batters over 3 innings. The defense backed the effort with great plays in the middle infield, preventing GBG Vegas from building momentum....

Kinley Kitchens

On the second day of the 2026 Perfect Game National Elite Championship, one swing turned heads across the ballpark. The next one brought everyone to a stop. With Wow Factor Nation 16U trailing midway through its matchup against Sandlot Scout Team 2028, Micheal O'Connor launched a solo home run to spark the offense. Just one batter later, Aaron Frink stepped into the box and sent another ball over the fence, delivering back-to-back home runs that quickly became one of the most talked about moments of the tournament’s opening days. Parents gathered along the nets, players from previous games stopped to watch, and college scouts turned their attention toward the action as the two towering swings energized the crowd and brought new life to the game. Although Wow Factor Nation ultimately lost 5-3 after a hard-fought performance, the back-to-back home runs served as a reminder of the...

17u WWBA Scout Notes: Day 1 | Day 2 | Day 3 | Day 4  Day 5 | Day 6 Shea Corona (2027, Brooklyn, N.Y.) showcased some loud stuff out of the bullpen for MLB Breakthrough Series 2027. The New York native and primary shortstop topped out at 93 with the fastball, sitting comfortable in the 90-92 range. Corona paired it with a sharp and tight slider at 81-83, staying on the same plane until late. The pitch plays well already and the delivery is very athletic. The uncommitted right-hander went three scoreless and was in the zone plenty, striking out two while not allowing a walk.
