Best of the Best Event Preview

In simplistic terms, the Best of The Best tournament is an absolute gauntlet as seemingly every game brings a playoff game atmosphere. Coaches must strategically map out their pitching to ensure they can get through Pool Play while also making sure they have arms to make a deep playoff run. Each and every age group is loaded with the best teams, composed of some of the best players that travel baseball has to offer.

The 9u & 10u age groups will respectively have 9 out of the Top 10 Teams within the latest PG National Team Rankings participating in the event. At 9U, LTP-Reign will look to hold on to their #1 ranking but will have plenty of competition with the likes of ZT National Prospects and HTX-Wildcatters 9U looking to take over that #1 spot. In the 10u age group, Elevate National will look to fend off plenty of talent with #2 ranked Kaos National, East Cobb Astros and ZT National Prospects in the tournament field. Elevate National is based out of Texas but has some East Coast flavor amongst their bevy of talented players on their roster. Both Ace Elliott (VA) and Bryce Shaw (NJ) bring high-octane fastballs and prodigious power to a formidable roster that will look to put an exclamation point on their #1 ranking. There will be tons of talent littered across both age groups, as these Young Ballers give us a glimpse into the future of the game.



Within the 11u & 12u groups, you will have many aspiring young athletes looking to stake their claim to a potential PG Select Festival invitation as the Best of The Best is one of the events each year that pits the absolute best players in the country all in one place. For those of you that do not realize just how talented these 11u &12u players are, keep your eyes peeled across the entirety of this very event as there will be plenty of exciting moments throughout this absolute gauntlet. It'll be electric across every roster as respectively 9 of the Top 10 teams at the 11u division and 8 of the Top 10 at 12u teams at each age group will be in attendance. Paul Basile of the #1 ranked TBT Ballers National is hitting nearly .800 coming into the event and will be a name to watch for years to come. David Thomas of DG29 Baseball Academy Black has already been into the mid-70s as an 11u eligible player. Jaxon Knox of the #3 ranked MVP/Hustle-Casillas brings a .582 average into the event and will look to continue his team’s success in 2026.

Now to the 12u group, where you find 26 PG Select Festival alums scattered throughout the various rosters with plenty of Festival hopefuls vying to show exactly WHY they should make this year’s iconic event. Wildcatters 12U Elite comes into the event undefeated along with the #1 Ranking in the country. The aptly nicknamed “Twin Towers” by yours truly Hardin Sullivan and Jameson Wilhite both bring heat into the low-80s, while Andrew Peavey of ZT National Prospects will look to continue his stellar 2026 campaign. AJ Elliott and Nolan Hatch of SBA National are both hitting over .500 as they plan to lead the #3 team in the country to a deep playoff run. There will be noticeable talent across each and every game with names that have we’ve become accustomed to hearing but the amazing part of this event is the new names that continue to shine or plant their names amongst the countries Best of The Best!

Following the trend already set forth by the 8u-12u groups mentioned above, the baseball only gets better the older you get and both the 13u and 14u brackets will be further proof of that. The 13u group will begin their first full season of playing on the 60-90 fields, but these players are already amongst the best and have shined this past fall and early spring as these rosters are littered with Select Festival alum, and new names who've yet to be discovered who'll demand a spot at the University of Knoxville with their performance. DK National 13u enters the event as the No. 1 team in the country on paper, followed by No. 2 ZT National, No. 3 FTB Phillies, No. 4 SBA Bolts National and No. 5 USA Prime National. In all, 9 of the 10 teams in attendance are ranked within the top 10 while the lone unranked club, the Wildcatters Elite, boast some of the best fire power, led by 7 Select Festival alum. 

The 14u spread is certain to be just as entertaining as 12 of the top teams from around the country will invade Sanford, Florida with players all throughout the top 100 set to be in attendance. And for as well known as some of these players are like the Christopher Cabrera's, Jhunior Jose Cordero's and Kingston George's, there are going to be new names who inevitably pop this weekend, utilizing the biggest stage and brightest lights to capture our attention. 

Take a look at the top teams attending and you quickly realize they are here not just to play, but to win, as nearly every one of the current top ranked players will be in attendance. With just three pool play games, every inning, strike that, every pitch will matter as we will see premier matchups from the opening pitch. The first pitch of the 14u bracket is slated for 8 am Saturday morning as the Central Florida Suns take on Furia Prospects 2030.

Year in and year out when the best young talent from across the country is packed into one national-level event the arms tend to win the week. That feels especially true in today’s amateur game where velocity, pitch design and high-level training in general are being introduced earlier than ever, allowing young pitchers to develop impactful stuff at a faster rate than younger hitters can consistently catch up to it.
