Life at the top of the poll has become a war of attrition and it’s not for the faint of heart. It’s becoming a weekly occurrence that there is a reshuffling among the Top-10, however, the real players for a national title are becoming evident. This year is shaping up to be an exciting run to the postseason and every loss is carrying massive ramifications to resume’s across the nation.

Our new No. 1, the Texas Longhorns (29-5) just continue to figure out ways to win series’ and find themselves atop the poll as well as the SEC standings after a hard fought weekend at Kentucky. Likewise, No. 2 Clemson (33-6) has yet to drop a series all season and trail only No. 13 Georgia Tech (29-7) in the ACC standings. The Georgia Bulldogs (32-6) bounced back from getting swept in Austin and are No. 3 this week after taking down now No. 4 Arkansas (32-5). The Tennessee Volunteers (31-5) hold tight at No. 5, showing the ability to win a tough road series at No. 12 Ole Miss (27-9).

As for teams that made a statement this week, the No. 6 Auburn Tigers (26-10) have been on an incredible run after taking down arch-rival No. 20 Alabama (29-8) two weeks ago, beating No. 13 Georgia Tech (29-7) in the midweek and sweeping now No. 10 LSU (31-6) last weekend. The North Carolina Tarheels (28-8) have been on a nice run as well and are up to No. 15 this week after they stifled the hot bats of the No. 24 Wake Forest Demon Deacons (24-13) and sweeping that series. TCU (28-9) vacated our poll over a month ago but are back with a vengeance at No. 16, having won 9 out of the last 10 and sweeping previously ranked Kansas. Last but not least, Cal Poly (25-9) enters the poll for the first time since 2016 at No. 25 after they took a big series from Hawaii and lead the regular season standings in the Big West Conference with a (14-1) record.
