Top 25 Update: February 26

Craig Cozart      Vincent Cervino
Another great week of college baseball is behind us and what is becoming more evident by the day is the fact that nobody can take anything for granted. Whether it is mid-week madness or weekend upsets, you never know what you are going to see in this wonderful game. The depth of talent across the nation, the amount of information that is available on opponents and the advanced player development is making each win a difficult thing to secure.

The Top-6 remain the same this week even though No. 1 Wake Forest (5-1), No. 2 Arkansas (5-2) and No. 3 LSU (7-1) all took a loss. Texas A&M (7-0) is playing like a national title contender at No. 4 as they have outscored their opponents 80-to-8 this season. TCU (7-0) stays at No. 5 and made a profound statement this weekend as they swept then No. 16 UCLA at home. The Florida Gators (5-1) round out the unchanged top of the poll with their perfect 5 game week.

The Vanderbilt Commodores (5-3) exit the Top-10, landing at No. 11 after losing 2 of their 5 contests on the week. The UCLA Bruins (3-3) as we previously mentioned, free fall to No. 25 after getting swept in Ft. Worth. Meanwhile, the No. 12 Duke Blue Devils (7-0) continue to rush their way up the polls on the strength of their power arms and hot bats. Dallas Baptist (7-0) is up six spots to No. 18 and continue to show one of the most well-rounded rosters in the nation.

There are four new teams in the poll this week as No. 19 Indiana (6-1) continues to prove their toughness playing a heavy road schedule thus far. The No. 20 Florida State Seminoles (7-0) and the No. 24 Indiana State Sycamores (7-0) both make their debuts this week. Meanwhile Coastal Carolina (5-2) returns at No. 23 on the shoulders of a high-powered offense, after a one-week hiatus from the poll.
