MIF Troy Hamilton  USC Upstate 3rd year starter for the Spartans. Hit .324 with 13 XBH in 2023. Talent to take another leap forward in 2024.
3B Cael Chatham  High Point 2nd Team All-Big South in 2023. Hit .321 with 13 HR’s. One of the top returning power bats in the conference. 
OF Brett Ahalt  High Point 2nd Team All-Big South in 2023. Collected double digit HR’s and SB’s while hitting .333 a season ago.
OF Robbie Burnett  UNC Asheville 1st Team All-Big South in 2023. Conferences top returner. Hit .379 with 26 XBH. 20-20 season is within reach. 
OF Dylan Bacot  UNC Asheville 3rd year starter for the Bulldogs. Hit .337 with a team high 23 multi-hit games and tied program record with 59 RBI in 2023.
DH Cade Conway  Charleston Southern NJCAA All-American in 2023. 14 HR and 61 SB at the juco level in 2023. Chance for double digit HR and SB in 2024.
UT Noah Sullivan  USC Upstate 2-way talent. Posted an ERA of 0.0 over 12.1 IP in 2023 and has hit over .300 at the plate the past 2 seasons (282 AB’s).
SP Ethan Walker  Longwood Big South All-Freshman Team in ’23. Pitched to a 4.01 ERA with a .233 BAA. Talent to become conferences top arm in 2024.
SP Mathieu Curtis USC Upstate  Big South All-Freshman team in 2023. Made 13 starts tallying 68.1 IP. Chance to see a jump in stuff this season that puts him among the conferences top starters.

With that we bring you our beginning of season JUCO baseball rankings. Perfect Game JUCO rankings combine all levels of JUCO baseball across the country into one overall ranking.  The top of this year’s beginning of season ranking begins where the D1 NJCAA World Series ended, with Walters State and Salt Lake. Really athletic, went 4.4 on turn; easy to dream on all the traits. #MLKEast @PG_OhioValley pic.twitter.com/wOIwnGKnkg — Perfect Game Florida (@Florida_PG) January 17, 2026 2028 OF Jakob Groeschel (Springfield, Ohio) broke out at this event last year hitting a casual .909, and although he didn’t turn in quite the same performance, he hit a strong .462 with 4 extra-base hits, 5 walks, 5 bags and only struck out once. He’s a pretty dynamic athlete who can do a lot of things well, but the bat is the calling card as he just lives on the barrel and has no problem handling all kinds of pitching.
