Freedom Classic Notes: Days 3-4

Garett Corkhill (2022, Alva, Fla.) flashed strikeout stuff in the Semifinals game on Monday. The uncommitted southpaw fired from a low, sidearm slot, and worked in the 79-82 range on his fastball, dialing it up to 84 mph. He also threw a mid-70s change-up and low-70s slider, which were respectively nasty. He showed excellent command through the first 3 innings, allowing just 1 hit. He finished with 4.1 innings pitched on the day, striking out 7 batters. He also hit during the tournament, racking up a .308 batting average in 14 plate appearances with hits recorded in 4 of his 5 games played.
