17u BCS Scout Notes: Day 2

Nicholas Rovitti (2024, Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) has an athletic delivery down the mound with a pretty controlled operation top-to-bottom. Rovitti threw 3.0 innings on Sunday, working up to 92 mph on the fastball and being able to hold the upper-80s for the most part. The pitch carried through the zone and paired well with his offspeed. He had a depthy changeup in the mix that looks like it might be a split-change grip. Rovitti turned to that pitch in the low-80s and sold it well with his arm speed, letting it work well low. He also showed a slider in the mid-70s for the most part with 10/4 shape, showing some tilt to it. He allowed 1 hit, and 1 walk, punching out 7 opposing hitters during his 3.0 innings of work.
