18u BCS Scout Notes: Day 1

Carson Henrikson (2023, Lake Wales, Fla.) had himself a day at the plate on Sunday as the 18u BCS event opened up. Henrikson swung the bat well, working from an upright stance with the hands set high. The right-handed hitter lifts the leg before striding through contact with good strength off the barrel and the ability to work through the zone with a smooth barrel. Henrikson works direct with his hands and gets the job done that way. He was 4-for-5 on the day with 2 doubles and 3 RBI, swiping 3 bags as well. Henrikson jumped on the mound for 1 and 1/3 innings of work, running it up to 87 mph on the fastball, showing a breaking ball as well that he manipulated shapes of. The right-handed pitcher punched out 3 opposing hitters as the uncommitted right-hander shined at the dish and was able to record some outs on the mound.
