WWBA South Scout Notes Days 3-4

Kaden Wharton (2024, Pantego, Texas) was lights out in his playoff start for 5 Star Performance 2024 American. He went 5.1 innings, giving up a lone unearned run, and only walking two while striking out six. His fastball started 86-87, but as the game went on, he settled into around 83-85. He showed some life, and used it well, specifically arm side. He had a very solid feel for his curveball, sitting in the lower 70s with some steep movement on the back end. Pitch shows some deception as it tends to hammer straight down while his body veers off glove side. He's got a very projectable 6-foot-3 frame that throws over the top and gets good extension. Wharton is a guy who should certainly be getting more looks in the near future.
