15U BCS National Championship Qualifier

Unfortunately, the final game in 15U between X Team and Jsb Elite 2026 was called in the bottom of the third due to inclement weather.

For their efforts throughout the weekend, both teams were named co-champions, inking their bid to the BCS National Championship next month.

X Team posted a 4-0-2 record throughout the weekend, including a narrow 4-3 win over Wesley Chapel Storm 2026 in the semifinals.

While JSB posted a 4-0-1 mark, including a 2-1 win over Freshwater Storm 15u Underclass to advance on to the championship.

When the siren sounded, indicating lightning in the area during the third inning of the championship game between X Team 2024 and the South Florida Giants, the teams agreed to stop the game and let both teams have the "champion" title.

To get to that championship game, the X Team beat National Baseball Academy 4-3. While the South Florida Giants' game ended with the same score, it took nine innings to finally get the win over Ballers Baseball.

17U BCS National Championship Qualifier

San Diego Padres Scout Team 2026 may have played up in age this weekend, but certainly didn’t show it en route to claiming the 17U championship at the BCS National Qualifier.

“It just shows the maturity of everybody,” Landon Schutte said. “All of them are great kids and athletes, it shows how good we are and how much we can compete at this level.”

Schutte, who was named MV-Pitcher of the division, received the call to the mound for the Padres in their 8-0 championship win against Hr14-2025.

In his 4 ⅔ shutout innings, the right-hander allowed just three hits while striking out seven - tossing a high-80’s fastball, complimented by a low-80’s slider and mid-70’s curveball.

“[Schutte] dominated the zone,” head coach Cameron Maybin said. “Fastball was outstanding, breaking stuff was electric, he does a really good job of understanding what he does well.”

The Padres tacked on two runs in the opening frame with Jacob Lombard knocking a triple to drive in Gustavo Melendez, followed by a sac fly from Jonathan Matos

But it didn’t stop on the offensive end for the Padres, tacking on multiple big defensive stops to go along with the dominant pitching effort from Schutte.

“One thing we preach is energy, one thing we can control is energy and effort and will,” Maybin said. “They’re growing right now as young men and that’s what we wanna preach and teach these guys to be selfless. Baseball is somewhat of an individual sport but a team sport in itself, but it’s moments where you can kind of become selfish, but this group they continue to keep the focus and play for each other.”

Four different players drove in a run for the Padres - Lombard, Matos and Trenton Maybin - including a two-run home run from Enrico Carrion in the top of the seventh.

“Everything was locked down the entire weekend,” Schutte said. “Defense especially was great, hitting needed a little bit of work, but in the championship game we found it, balls were going everywhere.”

Following an undefeated weekend and an automatic bid to the BCS National Championship, the Padres are using this showing as assurance of what they can accomplish.

“It was a grueling weekend, a lot of hot days,” Maybin said. “Today was a challenge in itself with three games and playing some really talented teams but this group is 15U and 2026’s for the most part and to come in this tournament and make a little bit of noise I think it’s gonna help grow that confidence.”

18U BCS National Championship Qualifier

After losing the lead in the fifth inning, a walk-off two-run home run by right fielder Simon Scharff clinched LWB 2023's 7-6 win over HR14-2024.

LWB took an early lead, getting a run in the first and tacking on three more in the third. However, HR14 was consistently getting runners home starting in the third inning.

Ellian A Urena drove in two runs on the day with teammates Alexis Fontanez and Jan Davila Rodriguez each adding one to the board. The two additional runs were the result of an error by the LWB defense - which cleaned up its act by the top of the seventh and didn't allow any runs on the board - setting up for the clutch homer by Scharff to take the victory.

On the mound for LWB was right-handed pitcher Parker Brown, who registered three strikeouts in four innings, mixing in a low-80's fastball complimented by a low-70's curveball and slider.

Finishing out the game for LWB was right-handed pitcher Carson Henrikson, who managed three strikeouts in two innings. Henrikson threw 50 pitches, with his fastball staying in the mid-80's and his curveballs and sliders hanging around the low-70's.

Right-handed pitcher Saul Luna spent five innings on the mound for HR14, throwing 71 pitches and four strikeouts. His fastball consistently clocked in at the mid 70's with his curveballs averaging 67 mph.

Also contributing to the Highlanders' offense were Connor Goff, Gavin Dicks, Levi Cutts and Parker Brown each driving in an RBI.

Pitching depth and clean defense got the Highlanders to the championship game - and though they made costly mistakes in this game, they were able to overcome errors and focus when it counted to put themselves in a winning position.
