Welcome back to the show, MLB Draft fans. As we sit, we’re just under 3 months from draft day, high school seasons are well underway in every part of the country, college baseball is past the halfway mark, and we have a significant amount of data as a result to put into the creation of a new board. As always, it’s important to lay out some of our more staunchly-guarded philosophical tenets when it comes to board-building. This is not nor will it ever be an industry survey draft board—in fact, the industry has less sway on this board than any other you’ll find in the public space. Our evaluations and analysis are weighted most heavily in the creation of this board, still with dozens of well-sourced conversations with industry members serving as feedback streams, with factors like signability having zero impact on this in particular.
