Most Likely To Make a Huge Jump in the Rankings in 2023:

Talon Haley, LHP, Southaven, Miss.
Slam dunk, easy choice here with the new Vandy commit. Athletic mover down the plane with stuff that only continues to improve as he enters his sophomore season for a loaded Lewisburg High School squad. The upper-80s velocity should see a quality uptick over the course of the 2023, which in turn will allow for his advanced feel of his off-speed arsenal to play up. I, along with many others, are very excited to watch him spin it this next season.

Most Likely To Hit .500 at PG Events in 2023:

Gabe Boyd, SS, Memphis, Tenn.
The Hail State commit could do no wrong in 2022, batting a cool .452 in 96 plate appearances. The at-bats were a must-watch around the complex and there’s no reason to think we won’t see even further growth in Boyd’s game in 2023. The long, lean middle infielder has plenty of room to add muscle mass, which is easy to anticipate out of a high motor-type guy. He left the yard only twice in 2022, but I project we could see 8-10 bombs next time around the circuit. The feel to barrel stands out with the top players in the 2025 class.

Christian Doty, SS/OF, Olive Branch, Miss.
Doty finished up 2022 batting .436 in a strong sample size of 193 plate appearances. Barrels aplenty for the Ole Miss commit. The swing path is as clean as anyone in the 2026 class, with multi-faceted impact in between the lines. His presence in the box is obvious, but something that stands out is the hustle, in multiple looks stretching singles into doubles with non-stop pressure applied on the basepaths. Someone that many are excited to watch as only a freshman.

Most Likely To Make a Velo Jump Into the Mid-90s in 2023:

Chris Billingsley, RHP, Brent, Ala.
The long, lengthy right-hander dazzled his way through the 2022 circuit, spinning 90 innings with a sub-1.00 ERA and just a tick shy of a strikeout per inning. Even as a senior, there’s plenty of physical projection remaining. The operation as a whole shows the desired looseness for added velocity. Far from a max-effort delivery. Easy choice to see an increase in velocity in 2023.

Most Likely To Back Up a Breakout in 2022:

Landon Harmon, RHP, New Albany, Miss.
What an epic coming out party 2022 was for the Mississippi State commit. Harmon is far from a finished product, but man can he really spin it. The slider is executed with frequency and shows the tight spin and late break of potentially a double-plus offering. The body is uber-projectable with a real chance to be well into the 90s by next summer. One of my absolute favorites in any class. All eyes will be squarely on him throughout 2023.

Most Likely To Lead the Region in Home Runs in 2023:

Konnor Griffin, OF, Florence, Miss.
There will never be a more predictable choice than selecting Griffin to lead the region in round trippers. The explosive multi-sport athlete finds himself squarely in the debate for the nation's top player, even after reclassifying into the class of 2024. Rare blend of talent with a mid-90s arm from the outfield and on the mound. Well under 7-second 60-yard and stick that has the ability to eviscerate baseballs. His services as a collegiate athlete are highly sought-after. Although, more likely than not will have to turn down a top-end of the first round type selection to make it to campus. Special player that should be well into double digit home runs in 2023.
