WWBA World Championship Scout Notes: Day 1 | Day 2 | Day 3

Putting together one quality at-bat after another for FTB/Philadelphia Phillies Scout Team today was Justin Best (2023, Cornelius, N.C.). There has obviously been a tremendous amount written about this 6-foot-3, 200-pound outfielder but today he showed some of the best adjustability and bat head control we have seen from him. Let’s face it, he’s a marked man every time he steps into the box and teams come at him with their very best, refusing to give in no matter the count or situation. In both games today, he battled in two-strike counts, fouled off numerous tough breaking balls and fought relentlessly to move the baseball at all costs. Mechanically he was synched up, which is sometimes a concern with his length, and he held his posture well through contact. Best still has a long way to go to fill out his frame and we should see him maximize his power/speed combo soon. The FSU commit finished the day batting .400 in two games with an OPS of 0.917.
