Carson McEntire (2023, Peoria, Ariz.) possesses loud tools that can make a big impact on games. That was apparent on Day 1, where the Oregon State commit stole a base and found multiple loud barrels including a long home run to cap off the day. A short, quick swing produces loud contact regularly. Advanced bat speed allows the bat head to get out front and impact the baseball. A clean, lofted path combines with a strong, lean frame to produce quality in-game power that can leave the yard and produce frequent extra-base hits. The advanced barrel accuracy stands out. A patient, yet aggressive approach allows McEntire to work deep into counts but punishable mistakes when they present themselves. Quick speed plays on the bases, allowing for frequent stolen bases and aggressive base running. The speed and athleticism also play in center field where McEntire has shown the ability to cover ground well into both gaps. It’s a profile that oozes with tools and should be a name to watch in next year’s draft.
