Getting the start on the mound for the Elite Squad Gulf South 15u was Drew Daigle (2025, Brusly, La.). The young RHP displayed a lot of moxie and determination as he competed in the zone with his heavy sinking fastball and mixed in the occasional slider and changeup. At 5-foot-10, 170 pounds, he is lean yet well-developed physically and has ample time to add size over the next couple years. Starting upright and hinging at the waist as he begins his transition down the mound, Daigle drops into his low arm slot that gives him action on his pitches. By the time he gets to release point, he is working from a low three-quarter angle, and this creates heavy sinking action to his arm side on his fastball. He worked almost exclusively off his fastball that stayed in the 78-82 mph range and proved very difficult for opponents to elevate. He also mixed in a subtle slider and fading changeup for his secondary offerings. Daigle went 3 2/3 innings, scattering 5 hits, allowing 1 earned run and striking out 2.
