It would be tough to say which side of the ball Sal Garcia (2026, Elizabeth, N.J.) stood out on more this week, as he was equally as impressive with the glove as he was with the stick. Hitting in the three-hole, he was in the middle of most of the offensive production and splitting time at second and short saw him with plenty of defensive opportunity to show what he was capable of. The swing shows good strength to all fields with a willingness to hit the ball where it is pitched when he knows he can do damage with each pass. The range and plays he can get to are well above average for the age, and when you add the arm strength on top of that, you have the real deal for a future shortstop at the next level.
