Bo Rhudy (2023, Chickamauga, Ga.) was about as impressive as it gets in the quarterfinal start for ECB Astros 17u. The fastball jumps out of the hand, sitting around 90 mph throughout the outing and grabbing 92 mph multiple times in the early going (2400 RPM). The slider had elite numbers (2600 RPM) and showed consistent 10-4 shape. A more 12-6 shape breaking ball was flipped across for strikes. Rhudy hides the ball well and tunnels the breaking ball extremely well out of the three-quarters arm slot. The 6-foot-3, 220-pound right-hander works down the mound well and has advanced arm speed and feel for all of his pitches. He finished up the game going five innings, allowing only one hit, and striking out eight. Rhudy is one of the most impressive uncommitted arms in the country and today’s start puts him even higher on that list.
