Frank Menendez (2023, Miami, Fla.) was one of the more looked forward to arms coming into the event and he didn’t disappoint as he showed a combination of big stuff and solid results in posting a much-needed win over a talented IMG Grey team. A strong-bodied lefthander, he’ll work into the low-90s with the fastball and it’s a good one as he kills spin on it and sinks it hard to the arm side giving it some of the better overall fastball life of any seen this weekend. It’s a very fast arm which should hold more velocity in the long-term but he’s able to miss a healthy amount of bats with the heater already. He’s got a pair of secondaries that he goes to with comfort and both flash well but have their respective command inconsistencies. The changeup has good sinking life to it as he’ll throw it right around 80 mph with good intent while the breaking ball might grade as the better of the two when he lands it as he throws it with power and has the kind of spin profile and bite to be a true out-pitch for him long-term.
