Perfect Game USA Goes to Arizona

Largest Scouting Attraction adds Big Arizona Fall Tournament

The PG WWBA World Championship is held every fall in Jupiter, Florida. The tournament is recognized as the top scouting attraction in all of baseball. Every year more than 600 college recruiters, MLB scouts and agents attend this event that has produced thousands of MLB draft picks, D-1 college players, and over a hundred current MLB players.

Many college coaches and MLB executives have requested that we do a similar event in Arizona. September 24-28, that is exactly what will take place in Tucson, Arizona at the Kino Sports Complex, which is the Spring Training home of the Arizona Diamondbacks. We may also play some games at the U of Arizona and at High Corbett, which is the Spring Training home of the Colorado Rockies.

The top players and teams in the entire country will give scouts and college recruiters another big attraction very much like the World Championship in Jupiter. Many of the same teams will compete in both events. We have already received verbal commitments from many of the nation’s top amateur programs, including the very best teams from East and Midwest. We also expect several MLB scout teams at both events.

“We believe that this event in Tucson will develop into a great tournament for everyone involved” says Jerry Ford, President of Perfect Game USA. “We obviously know it won’t replace Jupiter, but it will definitely allow several more teams a chance to play in an extremely competitive and highly scouted tournament in front of all of the scouts and college coaches.”

This tournament will be a strict invitation-only event, much like the one in Jupiter. PG will be evaluating the teams and sending out invitations later this month. Teams will be selected based on caliber of the talent geared towards MLB Scouting Departments and top College programs.
