Getting the day started over at Kennesaw Mountain High School was the Indiana Bulls Black and one of the standouts was center fielder Ahmaad Duff (2024, Indianapolis, Ind.) who has a ton to like. He’s not the biggest prospect in the world at a listed 5-foot-5, 140 pounds but he’s got a lot of hitterish traits along with quality athleticism and instincts in center field. The swing is super simple and compact from the right side with fast hands and an ambush mentality in the box. He worked his first count to full before hitting a hard ground ball to the pull side and in Duff’s second at-bat he jumped on the first pitch and lined it into left field for a single and the athleticism is evident both in his swing and in his movements. Duff gets quality reads off the barrel and moves really easily, ranging in center field to make a number of plays during the game and making it all look relatively easy. Duff has the look of a hitter with the athleticism and instincts to stick in centerfield as he’s a player that can impact the game in a myriad of ways both now and moving forward.
