MARIETTA, Ga. -- The inaugural Perfect Game National Select Championship will take place from June 17-20 at Perfect Game’s TOP Chops East Cobb Baseball Complex in Marietta, Ga. Teams based in 21 different states from California to Massachusetts are set to battle it out among all age brackets during the four-game-guaranteed weekend.

Without a doubt, this weekend’s tournament is the most prominent collection of amateur baseball talent that the country has seen in 2021, outside of showcases. This is an opportunity for the best of the best to truly compete against each other in a tournament format.

An as invite-only tournament in its maiden summer, the National Select Championship will feature four age groups, and from 20-32 of the top teams in each class. Event mainstays like the East Cobb Astros, Team Elite and 643 Cougars will be joined by other touted, national programs in each age group, with Canes, 3n2 Sticks Baseball, the Dirtbags and FTB to name a few challenging for supremacy.

16 states alone are represented in the 17u bracket, and 10 of the top-20 players ranked in the 2022 class will take the field hoping to add to their already-promising amateur careers. Dylan Lesko, Andruw Jones and Termarr Johnson, ranked second, third and fourth, respectively, are all rostered on the East Cobb Astros.

Lining up against the Astros are other top-10 players including Sticks Baseball’s fifth-ranked Jayson Jones, Cannons Baseball’s ninth-ranked Brandon Barriera and Canes National’s 10th-ranked Ian Ritchie Jr.

In another promising bracket, and one where the majority of top players are still waiting on a college commitment, the 16u division provides particularly competitive matchups. Similarly, 10 of the 2023 class’ top-100 players will be present, including fifth-ranked Ethan Robinson and sixth-ranked TayShaun Walton.

The top six players in the 16u bracket are evenly split among six different clubs, each with something to prove on a country-wide scale.

The tournament’s underclass competitions also showcase a crop of players among their class’ best. Alpha Prime’s Jake McKowen, the Royals Scout Team’s Anson Seibert and the Ohio Warhawks’ Erik Parker are the highest-ranked 2024 players, all of whom are within the top-50.

And among the weekend’s youngest are 2025’s sixth-ranked Jacob Kendall and 12th-ranked Luke Pappano. Both of them will play for 5 Star National in the 14u division.

The tournament, for all ages, will begin with pool play games on Thursday, which conclude on Friday evening, immediately giving way to the first round of playoffs on Saturday. Semifinals and championships for the 14u, 16u and 17u brackets will take place the following Sunday at the East Cobb Complex, and the 15u finals will be held at Blessed Trinity High School.
