One of the top-ranked prospects in the ’25 class and Oklahoma commit, Gavin Richars (2025, Fenton, Mo.), impressed in a big way this weekend as he continued the trend of being a standout two-way guy. In the box, the right-handed bat proved to have advanced bat-on-ball skills as he impacted out front with authority. He hit .364 on the weekend while tallying a couple of RBI and a double. It was quickly apparent that the arm is special as he ran a heavy fastball into the mid-80s with hard arm-side run. Richars also proved he could drop the changeup late that was his best offspeed pitch as he got swing and miss. The breaking ball is still a work in progress, but he proved he could land for strikes. In three innings of work, he struck out four and only walked one. The arm talent here is nothing short of special as he will be a name to keep an eye on going forward.
