Week 3 certainly didn’t disappoint in terms of fireworks as most teams in the top-10 took care of business outside of the top of the rankings. Louisville falls down the rankings after a 1-3 week, losing two of three to Georgia Tech on the weekend and dropping their midweek against Morehead State. Ascending to No. 1 are the Arkansas Razorbacks, as they took care of business with a weekend sweep and are currently 10-0. The offense has been relentless but the Razorbacks have really impressed in terms of the pitching staff as both Peyton Pallette and Lael Lockhart have filled big roles for the team in terms of starters.

Following Arkansas is approximately half of the SEC with Florida coming in at No. 2, Ole Miss at No. 3, Vanderbilt at No. 4, and Mississippi State at No. 5. Florida swept their weekend series after dropping a midweek game to ranked Florida Atlantic while Ole Miss and Vanderbilt went undefeated on the week. Mississippi State went 3-1, dropping one on the weekend to a very good Kent State team. Miami climbs one spot to No. 6 after a weekend series victory against North Carolina State, while the ACC also features Georgia Tech at No. 8 and Louisville at No. 9.

Texas Tech climbs to No. 7 after righting the ship the last couple of weeks while East Carolina rounds out the top ten at No. 10. Other notable risers include No. 12 South Carolina who is off to a 10-0 start to the season while No. 13 Arizona has been hot and went 4-0 at the Frisco Classic over the weekend. Big Ten play started this weekend and all three Big Ten teams in the preseason rankings remain. No. 14 Indiana went 3-1 against Minnesota and Rutgers, No. 19 Michigan went 2-1 against Iowa, and No. 23 Ohio State went 3-1 against Illinois.

Four newcomers make their way to the top 25 with No. 17 Boston College, No. 21 Oregon State, No. 22 Oklahoma State, and No. 25 Virginia Tech. The Boston College Eagles are flying high after their second straight ranked series win following a miraculous comeback on Sunday at Auburn. Oregon State hasn’t lost a game since the first of the season and swept a good BYU team while Oklahoma State is undefeated and downed a solid GCU team this weekend. Virginia Tech has won their first two ACC series’ against Miami and North Carolina and the Hokies look tough to start the year.
