TOMBALL, Texas -- No. 1 seed BPA 2021 used a five-run first inning to help secure a 8-5 victory over the No. 2 seed Playa Vista Orioles in the title game of the PG Mountain West Select Championship on Monday at the Premier Baseball of Texas Complex in Tomball, Texas.

Collin Reuter started the scoring for BPA with a double in the bottom of the first inning that scored Rhett Clark. Reuter and Cody Grebeck both scored three pitches later on a Harrison Owen single to break the game wide open.

Reuter preceded the scoring in the bottom of the first frame by striking out the side in the top of the inning. He threw three innings total, striking out seven and giving up three second-inning runs. Alex Wallace was handed the ball for the final four innings, striking out five in that time.

Playa Vista got three hits and three RBI out of Trent Baker in the championship game, along with two RBI from Noah Wahl.

It was a dominant run throughout the tournament from BPA 2021, who won their pool by going 3-0 with a 38-2 run differential. They moved through bracket play with a 9-1 win over 8-seed Colorado Recruits 17u in the first round and a 12-4 win over 4-seed CCB Wilson in the semis, before their 8-5 win in the title game.
