2021 Top Prospects

Jackson Holmes  RHP - 2021 - Columbia, IL
St. Louis

Holmes is a very projectable 6-4/180 right hander with a commitment to St.Louis. He was impressive for both his raw stuff, which included a fastball that topped out at 88 mph and a sharp mid-70's slider, and also for his command and ability to mix speeds and locations.

Gehrig Christensen  C - 2021 - Des Moines, IA
Iowa

Christensen was the most talented defensive player at the event, with high level athleticism behind the plate and plus present arm strength. He also ran a 6.86 sixty and had one of the top exit velocities of the event in the DK testing.

Mitch Wood  SS - 2021 - Ottumwa, IA
Iowa

Wood is a multi-talented shortstop with next level defensive ability at shortstop, including a 90 mph arm, to go with plenty of right handed bat speed. He was also solid on the mound, touching 87 mph and showing four pitches. Wood is an Iowa commit.

Aiden McGee  OF - 2021 - West Des Moines, IA
Minnesota State

McGee is a high ceiling athlete on both sides of the ball and with a young 6-4/192 body he's going to keep getting stronger. He showed nice hands and plenty of right handed bat speed while also topping out at 88 mph on the mound. He's a Minnesota State commit.

Gage Franck  OF - 2021 - Marion, IA
DMACC

Franck has a strong 6-1/180 build that has plenty of room to get stronger and is a very good overall athlete with 6.64 speed in the sixty. His right handed swing is very simple and repeatable and his strength gives him nice gap power.

Coy Sarsfield  OF - 2021 - Marion, IA
Iowa

Sarsfield is a very quick twitch athlete with a compact 5-8/175 build. He ran a 6.55 sixty and is the type the uses his speed aggressively in all aspects of the game. He also has plenty of right handed bat speed and an 88 mph arm from the outfield.

Jackson Nove  LHP - 2021 - Fairfax, IA
Kentucky

Nove has a long and very projectable 6-5/185 build and a loose and fluid arm action from a 3/4's slot. He worked consistently in the mid-80's with some running action and flashed quality to both his curveball and change up. He's a Kentucky commit.

Owen Puk  RHP - 2021 - Cedar Rapids, IA
Florida International

Puk is a very projectable 6-4/180 primary right handed pitcher but he may have a higher ceiling as a position player. He topped out at 84 mph on the mound and has been up to 86, with more coming, but he's a quality athlete who swings a very good right handed bat.

Logan Runde  RHP - 2021 - Peosta, IA
Florida International/Iowa Western CC

Runde is a big and strong 6-2/208 right hander with a loose strong arm and the ability to make multiple pitches really move well. His fastball topped out at 86 mph but he also threw an 82 mph sinker that dove downward, along with a slider, big slow curveball and a change up.

Gavin Huffman  RHP - 2021 - East Alton, IL
Parkland College

Huffman had a solid outing on the mound, showing a fastball that topped out at 86 mph to go with a low 70's breaking ball that generated lots of swing and miss.

Brandon Ford  MIF - 2021 - Oak Park, MI
Uncommitted

Ford is a very good all around athlete who had the defensive skills and athletic talent to look solid both in the middle infield and behind the plate catching. He's a right handed hitter with very quick hands at the plate and an accurate barrel.

Reed Stallman  1B - 2021 - Robins, IA
DMACC

Stallman is a polished left handed hitter with a very sound approach at the plate and a smooth and fluid swing. He's 6-3/200 but looks like he can gain plenty more strength in the next few years.

Owen Coffman  RHP - 2021 - Grinnell, IA
Southeastern CC

The first thing to notice about Coffman is his very long and slender 6-9/190 build. The next is that he's a strike thrower with both a fastball that reaches 84 mph and a big downer curveball. There is obvious projection here if he can get stronger.

2022 Top Prospects

Kyle Schupmann  SS - 2022 - Geneva, IL
University of Cincinnati

Schupmann was the star of the showcase, blasting two bombs in the Saturday game and coming back on Sunday and just missing another that ended up as a 2-RBI double. He's also a high quality athlete with 6.82 speed and a strong infield throwing arm.

Kellen Strohmeyer  SS - 2022 - Dubuque, IA
Iowa

Strohmeyer is a young 6-3/180 left handed hitter with an outstanding left handed swing and very good present bat speed, with plenty more coming as he physically matures. A North Carolina commit, he's also a 6.88 runner.

Aaron Savary  RHP - 2022 - Dubuque, IA
Iowa

Savary has a long and projectable 6-3/175 build and an easy athletic delivery that he repeats well. He topped out at 85 mph on his fastball but the most impressive part of his raw stuff was his command of a complete four-pitch mix and his ability to throw each of his pitches for strikes.

Tony Pluta  C - 2022 - Palatine, IL
Arizona

Pluta is an athletic catcher with two-way potential as a pitcher. He shows quickness and big arm strength behind the plate and also has plenty of raw bat speed, especially for a catcher. Pluta's arm strength translated well into a 84-87 mph fastball on the mound.

2023 Top Prospects

Colter McAnelly  SS - 2023 - Cheyenne, WY
Utah

McAnelly is a rare prospect from the state of Wyoming and already has a Missouri commitment. He has an outstanding 6-3/175 build with some present strength starting to show and has a nice right handed swing at the plate. He was also up to 82 mph with a tight and big curveball on the mound.
