18u Fall Northeast Champ. Scout Notes: Day 1

John McAdams
The 18u Northeast Fall Championship got started this weekend with plenty of talented teams descending on South Jersey trying to make up for lost time over the summer.

Lehigh University commit Justin Butler (2021, Quakertown, Penn.) got things rolling in game one of pool play for his PA Rebels squad, going 2-for-3 with a double and triple. The strong, well-proportioned Butler hits from a simple operation with good balance and rhythm in is pre-swing movements. The stroke is slightly lofted with good leverage out in front and strength in his hands through contact. Butler exhibits consistency at the plate with good bat-to-ball skills and a patient approach. The Quakertown native is very fundamentally sound behind the dish, commanding the pitching staff with natural leadership skills and present arm strength to control the running game. The 2021 Grad should provide an immediate impact upon reaching campus and will be someone to monitor next spring.
