Fall National Champ. Scout Notes: Day 1 | Day 2

Day three marked playoff day in the desert, beginning with Team Trinity narrowly defeating Trosky National 2023 2-1. Despite the exit, uncommitted two-way man Grant Govel (2023, Rolling Hills Estates, Calif.) was solid at the plate for Trosky National throughout the tournament, and added another knock early in the ball game. With a wide and open stance, Govel’s lower half fires through quickly and he’s able to use his lower half on pitches down in the zone. He consistently works to keep his hands inside the baseball, as he did with his base hit to the opposite field in the game. His front foot trigger gets down early and he shows adjustments pitch to pitch with his timing and rhythm with the pitcher. Despite his front foot trigger getting down early, he still is able to create good leverage in his stroke as he displayed on day one with a towering shot to left field. With a fastball up to 90 mph to pair with his maturing appearances at the plate, he has a true opportunity to become a two-way threat at the next level.
