Alton Davis, lhp, Class of 2022
Commitment: Alabama
In just a calendar year Davis has seen a significant uptick in terms of velocity, topping out at 79 mph last summer before opening eyes this year at the 16u WWBA East where he worked comfortably in the upper-80's and bumped 91 mph. Listed at 6-foot-4, 180 pounds, the long and lean Davis is an excellent pickup for the Alabama staff as they land one of the top lefthanders in the state and it appears he may only be scratching the surface of his long term potential. His arm action is plenty quick through the back side, creating solid extension out front while generating the velocity without much effort. The young lefthander complimented his heater with a low-70's sweeping slider, a pitch that’ll only continue to develop moving forward.
