2021 Top Prospects

Steele Jackson  OF - 2021 - Hamilton, IN
Pasco-Hernando CC

Jackson was extremely impressive this weekend as he swung it with authority in the box. He utilized strong hands and was able to impact the baseball unlike anyone else in the event. On Saturday, he took a low pitch and hit a light pole type shot into the trees over the leftfield fence. He came back the next day and smoked a single to leftfield that almost took the third basemans glove off. He played a solid outfield too as he threw it 88 mph during drills and was fundamentally sound. He also ran well, recording a 6.76 second sixty yard dash. Jackson is currently uncommitted and has flown under the radar for too long.

David Bishop  SS - 2021 - Marietta, GA
TCU

Bishop had a strong weekend as he passes the eye test first and foremost standing at a lean 6-foot-3. He ran a quick 6.53 second sixty yard dash. He played an athletic shortstop and moved well laterally while showing a strong arm, throwing it 88 mph during drills. At the dish, he shows a big swing as he looks to drive the baseball deep with every swing. He drove the baseball out of the park with ease during batting practice. The hit tool is advanced and when you combine that with his defensive skills, he shows as one of the top prospects from the event.

Carter Bailey  RHP - 2021 - Snellville, GA
Wofford

Bailey utilized a sturdy build with broad shoulders as he was impressive on the mound. The big righty used his size to his advantage as he worked with drop and drive mechanics. He mixed pitches well and missed barrels during his outing. He was up to 87 mph and mixed in a hammer of a breaking ball in the low-70's. The changeup was a great pitch as well. The overall pitchability here was impressive and is a name to follow going forward.

Nicholas Hong  C - 2021 - Lawrenceville, GA
Uncommitted

Hong had a solid weekend as he swung a powerful bat and was strong behind the dish as well. At the plate, he knew how to leverage the baseball and he generated backspin as well. He took a very loud batting practice and drove a couple balls deep in game. Including one that was caught on the warning track in centerfield. Behind the dish, he flashed good hands and he sat in his stance athletically.

Jack Godsey  RHP - 2021 - Roswell, GA
Flagler College

Godsey had a great outing on the mound this weekend as the right-handed arm filled up the zone and went right after guys. The operation was athletic and repeatable. Quick, whippy arm action as he ran the fastball up to 86 mph and he mixed in an 11-to-5 breaking ball with tight spin. Also had feel for a slider as well with late sweep. Projects in a big way here on the hill.

Devin Obee  OF - 2021 - Nashville, TN
Duke

Obee continues to impress in the box as the right-handed bat swings it with authority and punishes baseballs. He had some of the loudest contact of the weekend as he lined out deep to centerfield. He also proved to be a strong runner as he ran a 6.54 second sixty yard dash. The overall tools here are advanced and is a name to keep track off going forward.

Michael Balboni  C - 2021 - Naples, FL
Florida Southern

Balboni was one of the most advanced defensive catchers from the event as he held runners and spotted up on corners while stealing strikes for his pitchers. He recorded a 1.90 second pop time and threw out a runner at second as well in games. In the box, the left-handed hitter proved to have some feel for the barrel as he utilized a gap to gap type approach. He scorched a liner to the pull-side in games. Look for him to continue to progress as a legit hitting catcher.

Francis Thorne  OF - 2021 - Atlanta, GA
Jackson State

Thorne stands out in a big way as he flashes a 6-foot-6 frame with a slender look, proving to be ultra-projectable. On the mound, he utilized a long arm action and got extended down the mound. Fastballs snuck up on hitters as he was up to 85 mph. He was able to spin the breaking ball and mix in a changeup as well. He swung the bat well too at the dish as he looked to drive the baseball middle-away and was successful in doing so. He projects with some two-way possibilities.

Samuel Smith  3B - 2021 - Lilburn, GA
Tennessee-Martin/Northwest Florida State College

Smith had a great weekend as he shows as an athletic utility guy. He ran a 6.95 second sixty yard dash. He played a fundamentally sound outfield position and had some feel in the infield as well. He threw it 85 mph during drills from both. On the mound, he delivered from a tough lower three-quarter slot and ran the fastball up to 85 mph. He also mixed in a slider that he landed for strikes as well. He missed barrels and filled up the zone.

Wyatt Stevenson  SS - 2021 - Atlanta, GA
Uncommitted

Stevenson impressed on the mound as he went right after hitters and missed barrels. He ran the fastball up to 87 mph and snuck it up on hitters as he worked both sides of the dish. He mixed in a tight spinning breaking ball with late bite and a fading changeup as well. The pitchability is starting to show and he had ultimate confidence on the mound during his outing.


2022 Top Prospects

Blake Gillespie  RHP - 2022 - Lula, GA
Georgia

Gillespie impressed in a very big way this weekend as he proved to have two-way capabilities. On the mound, he utilized an athletic operation as he flashed some whip to the arm. He was up to 89 mph with the fastball and worked both sides of the dish with it. He worked in a late fading changeup as well that had hitters off-balance. In the box, the switch hitter was plus from both sides and he found barrels in game as well. He also was able to generate opportunities with his speed as he busted it out of the box. He ran an easy 6.70 second sixty during workouts. He had one of the strongest weekend perfomances all-around.

Tristan Nguyen  LHP - 2022 - Gainesville, GA
Georgia State

Nguyen had a great outing on the mound as the left-handed arm filled up the zone with an athletic delivery. He was direct to the dish as he ran the fastball up to 85 mph. More importantly, he held his velocity and pounded his spots. His slider flashed late snap to it and he had batters chasing it. His changeup was advanced too that had late fade to it. The pitchability here is far advanced and is someone who projects well on the mound. He also swung the bat well and played a serviceable first-base, further proving his value to any line-up.

JonPaul Wheat  RHP - 2022 - Marietta, GA
Georgia Tech

Wheat is long, lean type athlete who is ultra-projectable. He swung a very strong bat as he threw hands and hammered the baseball on a line to all fields. In game, he crushed a double to the right-center gap and glided around the bases. He played a rangy outfield and has a very strong arm as he threw it 92 mph on a string during drills. The profile here shows big time upside.

Carson Ballard  RHP - 2022 - Alpharetta, GA
Georgia Tech

Ballard swung one of the hottest bat of the weekend and was also extremely impressive on the mound. In the box, he utilized a quick, short path to the baseball and drove it on a line. He also took an outer half pitch and lined it strait to the right-fielder, further proving his hit tool. On the mound, he flashed repeatable mechanics and was direct to the dish as he ran his fastball up to 87 mph. He was also able to spin the breaking ball and work in a late fading changeup. The athleticism here is visible from afar and he complemented that with a 6.78 second sixty yard dash as well.

Matthew Holcomb  RHP - 2022 - Lilburn, GA
Georgia College & State/Southern Union State CC

Holcomb had a great performance on the mound as the pitchability was evident. The overall operation was very clean and repeatable. He worked with a whippy arm as he ran the fastball up to 87 mph while pounding his spots. His breaking ball was a swing and miss type pitch as it shows late bite to it. Look for him to fill out his young frame and continue to be a dominant force on the mound.

Kameron Douglas  OF - 2022 - Woodstock, GA
Georgia State

Douglas is a physical standout as he flashes a lean, athletic type build. Very mature physically for his age. He played a rangy outfield, running a 6.99 second sixty yard dash. He also flashed arm strength as well throwing it 90 mph during drills. The hit tool is advanced too as he swung the bat with authority. He created separation and drove the baseball on a line with ease. He projects in a big way.

Cannon Peebles  C - 2022 - Mechanicsville, VA
Tennessee

Peebles showcased himself as gritty catcher with a plus hit tool this weekend. In the box, the switch hitter flashed great hands as he was able to find barrels consistently. Backspins the baseball and drove a deep triple into the right-center gap during games too. Recorded a 1.83 second pop time during drills and was very solid behind the dish. Spots up and kept baseballs in the dirt in front of him. Also, hopped on the mound and was up to 89 mph. Showing some upside as a closer type arm. Big time upside here showing from the switch hitting catcher.

Nolan Sliver  RHP - 2022 - McDonough, GA
Kennesaw State

Sliver was solid in every aspect of the game as he proved himself to be projectable as two-way guy. On the mound, he utilized a whippy arm and stayed direct to the dish. He ran the fastball up to 85 mph and mixed in a sweeping slider as well. Went right at guys and made them swing the bat. He played a rangy short stop with a great first step and the arm strength was present as well, throwing it 86 mph during drills. He also proved to have some feel at the plate as he flashed a linear swing path and found barrels consistently.

Shane Huntsberger  RHP - 2022 - Coral Springs, FL
Western Carolina

Huntsberger was solid in his outing this weekend as he carved batters up. The right-handed arm was simple with his actions as he utilized drop and drive mechanics while filling up the zone. Worked both sides of the dish with the fastball, which was up to 87 mph. He flashed a fading changeup and a slurvy breaking ball as well as he kept hitters off-balance. He is also starting to work in a splitter that had some bite to it and he did a good job of keeping it down. Big time upside showing on the mound here. Plenty of more velocity in the tank down the road.

Will Tippett  SS - 2022 - Stone Mountain, GA
South Carolina

Tippett was one of the most athletic prospects in the event as he ran a 6.50 second sixty yard dash. He shows as a utility guy and had feel for multiple positions. He roamed the outfield with confidence and had a very strong arm as he threw it 88 mph during drills. He proved to be serviceable in the infield as well as the range was evident and the arm plays here as well. In the box, he was short and simple to the baseball as he sprayed it to all fields on a line. He also hopped on the mound and was up to 86 mph. He located down in the zone and missed barrels. He was also able to land a breaking ball and changeup for strikes too. The overall athleticism was visible for all to see in everything he did.

Barry Manning  OF - 2022 - Stone Mountain, GA
Eastern Michigan

Manning is a young prospect who is ultra athletic. He ran a 6.94 second sixty with long strides. He played a solid outfield with great footwork and he arm strength was showing as he threw it 87 mph with accuracy. The hit tool is advanced too as he was able to square up velocity with ease. He had a couple base knocks and ran the bases with good reads. He jumped on the mound for an inning and impressed here too. He got extended down the mound and ran the fastball up to 88 mph. Manning is still young in the face and is a prospect that has a chance to make that jump into the elite level down the road.

Jayden Talik  OF - 2022 - Lilburn, GA
Georgia Highlands

Talik had a strong showing this weekend as he swung the bat with confidence and proved to be solid in the outfield as well. He made great reads and has a strong arm to compliment the play as he threw it 88 mph during drills. The hit tool was strong too as he had active hands and was able to leverage the baseball. When he got extended, he proved to have some big time pop to the pull-side as well.

Will Prigge  MIF - 2022 - Atlanta, GA
Tulane

Prigge proved to be a solid two-way type guy. On the mound, he was up to 83 mph with the fastball and had guys swinging over the changeup. He mixed pitches well and pounded his spots. He held runners on well and had a confidence showing on the bump. He also played a solid middle infield. He moved athletically laterally and had a quick transfer as he threw it 82 mph during drills. The hit tool is starting to show too as he found barrels constantly and was able to drive the baseball to all fields.


2023 Top Prospects

Griffin Graves  LHP - 2023 - Jackson, TN
Auburn

Graves impressed in a big way on the mound as the left-handed pitcher proved to have advanced pitchability. Filled up the zone with a fastball up to 85 mph and was able to really spin the breaking ball. Was able to backdoor hitters and got guys to chase down as well. Huge upside showing and will be an elite level type arm down the road if he continues to progress.

Francesco Capocci  RHP - 2023 - Cumming, GA
North Carolina

Capocci stands out right away as a physically advanced prospect. He utilizes his lean 6-foot-3 frame to its fullest potential. He is a plus runner, running a smooth 6.80 second sixty yard dash. Plays a very strong thirdbase and the arm strength is already present, throwing it 88 mph across the diamond during drills. Bat is starting to show as well as he proved he could spray it gap to gap.

Kaleb Cost  OF - 2023 - Fayetteville, GA
North Carolina

Cost is extremely athletic and he carries that into all aspects of his game. He ran a smooth 6.95 second sixty yard dash and roamed the outfield with that speed as he tracked down fly balls all day. In the box, he relies on his hands to get the barrel through the zone as he proved he could spray it around the park. He also squared up velocity easy, further proving the hit tool. His baserunning flashed advanced feel as well. Cost shows as a very well rounded ball player and is a name to follow going forward.

Caleb Moran  C - 2023 - Hillsboro, TN
Motlow State CC

Moran showcased himself as one of the top hitting catchers from the event. He utilizes a sturdy build as he swings a heavy barrel through the zone. He found barrels with every cut he took while swinging one of the hottest bats during the event. He has great hands behind the dish and is someone to follow as he will progress defensively down the road. The overall feel with the bat stands out in a big way.

Edward Phelps III  3B - 2023 - Kennesaw, GA
Georgia

Phelps had a solid weekend as he swung the bat with authority in the box. He recorded an exit velo of 92 mph off the tee and he carried that into games as well. He crushed a double off the leftfield wall as he glided into second. He shows as a utility guy on defense and even hopped on the mound for an inning and filled up the zone. The hit tool shines bright and is a name to follow going forward.


2024 Top Prospects

William Hampton  1B - 2024 - Richmond Hill, GA
Vanderbilt

Hampton impressed in a big way this weekend as he played up to the competition, being the youngest prospect in the event. He played a solid firstbase with great feel for the glove as he scooped up the baseball with an advanced feel. At the dish, the left-handed bat crushed baseballs and found barrels consistently. He shows as a power guy to the pull-side as well and we will start to see that more as he gets older. Big time upside showing here .
