Riley Slaughter (2022, Roswell, Ga.) is a 6-foot-1, 185 pound catcher, third baseman, outfielder, and right-handed pitcher from Roswell High School in his hometown. Riley caught most of the tournament for his club, East Cobb Precision 16u, as he did, Tuesday at Brook Run, during the 17-7 early pool play blow out win. At the plate, Slaughter has a confident approach and stays short through the hitting zone with fast hands, barrel control, and plenty of power generation in his lower half. Slaughter displayed the ability to make consistent hard-hit contact to the gaps going 3 for 4 with two runs scored and a double. On the bases, Slaughter moves well for a catcher with awareness and aggressiveness. Behind the plate, Slaughter profiles to stay as he is a solid receiver, and quiet earning a lot of extra strikes for his staff. Capping things off, Riley makes hard throws to bases with strength, accuracy, and carry through the bag.
