Blake Larson (2024, Des Moines, Iowa) was lights out in a complete-game shutout for the Iowa Sticks Scout team. Larson sat 80-82 mph with the fastball before play was halted on Saturday night, throwing a low enough number of pitches to come back and finish the game on Sunday morning. Larson sat more in the 77-79 mph range in the restart, running it up to 82 mph again on one occasion and showing good feel to spin the 1-7 breaker. Larson has projectable length and athleticism that is exciting to see at the 14U level, and if one hit and 10 strikeout performance is any indication, Larson is a name to follow closely in this 2024 class.
