14U WWBA Scout Notes: Day 1 | Day 2 | Day 3

In the morning time slot at Spain Park High School dueling low 80's arms battled in relief for their clubs. Daquan Cox (2024, Tabor City, N.C.) of Rock Solid Tucci and Kennith Lohmann (2024, Franklin, Tenn.) of Knights Baseball Platinum.

Daquan Cox is an athletic player who has shown his versatility on the defensive side of things playing at shortstop and in the outfield while hopping on the mound Monday where he really projects well. The athleticism on the bump stands out with his delivery. He starts his delivery with a big side rocker step before lifting his leg and driving with his lower half down the mound. The arm works very well with quickness while staying online to the plate. The righthander sat mostly 77-81 and topped out at 83 mph in this outing. He mixes in his 68-70 mph curveball for strikes as well that showed good 11-5 shape. Cox projects for a ton more velocity in the future while controlling his body so well at such a young age.
