Georgia Scout Notes: Day 1

Andrew Armstrong (2020, Buford, Ga.) had another dominating performance on Monday afternoon as he threw four innings of shutout baseball punching out seven hitters and allowing just one hit. Armstrong, a Florida State commit, pitches from a low arm slot and pounds the strike zone so well. He repeats his mechanics with a three pitch mix that he tunnels from a repeated arm slot that is deceptive to hitters of either handedness but especially lefties. Armstrong lives at the bottom of the strike zone repeatedly with a fastball up to 88 mph, a changeup that is extremely deceptive looking like a fastball on its ride to the plate and a mid 70s slider with outstanding depth and horizontal break. 

Termarr Johnson (2022, Atlanta, Ga.) is a defensive standout and his instincts are outstanding on the base paths as well. Johnson has a swagger about his game that any school in the country would love to see on their campus. His hands in the infield are elite and his arm pl
