Georgia Scout Notes: Day 1 & 2

Greg Gerard         Drew Wesolowski
Mason Perrigo (2024, Birmingham, Ala.) is one of the more physical players in the 14u Battle of the Southeast Tournament and he hits in the middle of a talented Excel Blue Wave team’s lineup. Perrigo has a unique set up at the plate with a very low hand stance and simple trigger. He get his hands into a ready position to hit and creates plenty of bat speed through the hitting zone to the point of contact. Thursday afternoon the infielder connected on a deep line drive triple to the pull side displaying the strength he has to impact the baseball with loud thump. Perrigo has an advanced approach at the plate too and is not afraid to handle good velocity as he saw multiple arms throwing low 80s fastball his way. Perrigo drew a pair of walks on Friday while not getting too aggressive at the plate and taking his pitches, an advanced aspect of his game at the plate.
