Southeast Region: Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee

The Southeast Region as currently defined may have the most collective talent as any part of the country. This required some real decision making when it came to selecting the Region Dream Team, especially since three of the region’s highest-ranked seniors, plus the nation’s highest-ranked junior, all either play or are projected to play third base. This left very deserving middle infielders such as seniors Colt Keith (Miss.) and Jack O’Dowd (Tenn.), plus a trio of Georgia juniors – Michael Braswell, Kristian Campbell and Ryan Spikes – all on the sidelines.

Who would win a mythical tournament of the 10 regional Dream Teams? Florida, Pacific and Texahoma all have their strengths, while the Northeast would be a sleeper in 2020. But with their enormous power at the plate and a deep staff of high-performance pitchers, the Southeast would be the likely favorite.

C – Alek Boychuk
Boychuk is one of the top defensive catchers in the country and ranked 75th overall in the PG national class rankings. The South Carolina signee is no slouch with the bat either, hitting .304-5-34 with nine doubles as a junior. Georgia is blessed with a pair of very high-level offensive catchers as well in senior Corey Collins (North Gwinnett HS), who posted .474-16-50 numbers last spring, and sophomore phenom Jared Jones (Walton HS), who hit .412 with 13 home runs as a freshman.
