Pacific Region: California, Hawai'i

After a couple of relative down years, California’s 2020 class is outstanding, with 13 Perfect Game All-Americans in total and numerous other national level players who could become high draft picks either this June or after three years of college. And the good news for the state is that the 2021 class might be even stronger.

The Pacific Region also includes Hawai’I, and while that state has a talented senior class in its own right, no one could crack the Dream Team lineup. Slugging first baseman Kala’I Rosario is the state’s best player, while a trio of standout middle infielders in Kalae Harrison (Texas A&M), Jordan Donahue (Oregon State) and Walter Ahuna II (Kansas) could have immediate impact at the college level in 2021.

One California player who isn’t on the team but likely would have been if he were healthy is junior righthanded pitcher Alonzo Treadwell (Mater Dei High School). The 6-foot-7, 220 Treadwell, a UCLA commit, underwent Tommy John surgery in January and will miss the season.

The Pacific Region has five catchers ranked in the Top 200 of the 2020 class rankings, including three PG All-Americans in Soderstrom, Loyola High School’s Kevin Parada and Jesuit High School’s Daniel Susac, so it’s an exceptional group of catchers to choose from. The lefthanded hitting Soderstrom is a three-year starter at Turlock High School and hit .450-4-27 as a junior, with 12 doubles and 21 walks in 28 games.
