Chattanooga’s eXposure Underclass White – Fall Rolls to Underclass ‘Ship in Georgia

MARIETTA, Ga. – With a roster filled with highly ranked prospects and college commits, eXposure Underclass White – Fall, came to Marietta this weekend and dominated the Underclass bracket to capture the PG Underclass Fall Classic crown after beating Ninth Inning Royals 16u Honeycutt at the East Cobb Complex Sunday afternoon 4-2.

In the championship game, eXposure Underclass White - Fall’s lineup featuring Virginia Tech commit Keaton Ray, Lipscomb commit Wyatt Heidle, and Alabama commit Andrew Burns each had a RBI, which would be the difference in the 4-2 victory.

In pool play, eXposure Underclass White - Fall went 2-0 outscoring their opponents 19-3, which would be good enough for a No. 1 seed heading into bracket play.

eXposure Underclass White - Fall would continue their dominance in bracket play as they outscored their opponents Sunday at East Cobb 15-5 on their way to the championship win.

East Tennessee State commit Andrew Ronne would take home MVPitcher honors after a complete game, two-hit effort in the Quarterfinals Sunday morning at the East Cobb Complex, over Bullpen Redstitch 108 16u. Ronne was dominant all game long as he recorded 17 strikeouts allowing a walk and scattering two hits throughout the game.

MVP honors went to 9th Inning Royals 16u Honeycutt’s Sadir Ryan. Ryan, the club’s backstop, would go 1-for-3 in the fifth spot in the Royals order during the championship loss Sunday afternoon. Over the course of the weekend, Ryan was impressive at the plate as he ended with an average of .429 in five games. He contributed to the team’s offense production in a big way this weekend racking up five singles and a home run, while batting in three runs, scoring six of his own, and swiping six bases. He is now hitting .356 in 27 games this year at Perfect Game events. Very impressive and consistent offensive production from the sophomore out of Southwest Dekalb High School in his hometown of Decatur, Georgia.

643 DP Cougars Improbable Run Lands Upperclass Crown

MARIETTA, Ga. – 643 DP Cougars capped off a perfect weekend Sunday at East Cobb to capture the 2019 Perfect Game Fall Classic crown, after beating East Cobb Colt .45’s 18u club 4-3. 643 went a perfect 5-0 on their way to the hardware, which is becoming a regular occurrence in Georgia this fall.

643 DP Cougars advanced into bracket play Saturday night as the second-seeded team in the bracket as both 643 and East Cobb Astros advanced through the two-game pool play undefeated. In bracket play, they miraculously survived three one-run games, including the championship Sunday afternoon.

In their first playoff game Sunday morning at Kell High School in Marietta, they scored twice in the bottom of the sixth to move ahead by the one-run margin. Tournament MVP William Lybrook got things going for 643 with a bunt single and was moved to second with one out by Dallas Baptist commit Reid Robertson. A single by outfielder Adam Love would even the score, and then with the bases loaded later in the inning, Mark Tucker wore a pitch to collect an RBI the hard way and put his team up 3-2. John Armstrong came in to pitch in the top half of the seventh striking out two and fielding a weak grounder to move his team into the semifinals.

In the semifinals at Kell High School Sunday afternoon, 643 Cougars would draw the third seed, Canes GA Gold 17u. 643 DP Cougars found themselves trailing the Canes 2-1 after six and a half, when they came to bat in the bottom of the seventh.

In the seventh, West Florida commit Kyle D’Amour got the offense going with a one-out double to left field. Kyle would then steal third during Jack Gilsenan’s at-bat that ended in a walk. With runners on first and third, D’Amour stole home to tie the game at 2, which would end the club’s scoring and send the game to extra innings.

In the eighth, the tiebreaker rules start with an out on the scoreboard, and 643 would induce a double play on the second pitch of the top of the eighth to get back into the dugout and win the game, which is exactly what they would do.

In the bottom half of the eighth, 643 would only need one pitch to advance to the semifinal as Jack Fergusson saw a fastball and drove it to deep left field for the sacrifice fly, and a 3-2 victory over Canes GA Gold 17u.

In the final, aforementioned MVP and Harvard commit Lybrook, Jackson Brown, and Reid Robertson led 643 DP Cougars at the top of order going a collective 4-for-8 with three runs scored, a double, a triple, and two runs batted in.

Troy University commit Beau Fletcher of the East Cobb Colt .45’s 18u squad, was named MVPitcher of the tournament, as he was dominant Saturday night at Brook Run Baseball Field – Sadler as he outdueled Nicolas Fagerburg of East Cobb Braves 17u Braves with 12 punchouts over 5 2/3 innings pitched where he only allowed one hit and no runs.

643 DP Cougars will be back in action next weekend in Jupiter, Fla. as they will be taking place in the 2019 WWBA World Championship, Thursday through Monday at the Roger Dean Complex.

Back-to-Back MLK East for Phillies

TBT Phillies Scout run rules for second straight MLK East Championship The 14U TBT Phillies Scout Team overtook A3 Academy Futures 14-6 in the final game to win their second straight 2026 MLK East Championship. Though the skies were blue and the sun was out in Fort Myers, Florida, the air was very chilly. The wind whipped through the palm trees as players, parents and friends piled into the 5-Plex Player Development Complex bundled up in blankets, hoodies and beanies.  The A3 Academy Futures were first up to bat - and the TBT Phillies struggled through the first frame. The first run came across on a balk; the second came soon after off a double from Gabriel Messing. “I was surprised that they scored right away off the jump,” Kingston George said, an outfielder for TBT Phillies Scout and this year’s MVP of the 14U East MLK championship. “We were kind of quiet...

Demystifying the Curveball, Pitch Counts, and Weighted Balls- Part 1 You know what I love about the holidays? Good food, time with family, and the unspoken rule that nobody brings up religion or politics at the dinner table.   Why? Because they're powder kegs. Topics that bring out deep-seated beliefs and strong emotions.  Well, I accidentally lit one of those powder kegs recently, except it wasn't at the dinner table. It was on social media.   Our team posted a short clip of me at Boot Camp making what I thought was a pretty straightforward point: simply avoiding the curveball is far from a guarantee of arm health.   I wasn't trying to be provocative. I was just stating what I believed to be obvious after 30 years of doing this work.  But boy, did a few people have problems with it.   It became one of the most discussed posts in Ranch history....

MLK West Scout Notes: Days 1-2 Markus Chandler, RHP, Westside HS Class of 2027 A little on the undersized side as a sub 6 footer, but Chandler can generate some velo and spin.  Spun 3 frames of hitless ball for Spects National with zero walks and 6 strikeouts.  Committed to Kansas State, the righty ran the fastball to 92, living 89-92 pumping the zone with 75 percent strikes.  Looked like two different breaking balls, with the SL 80/81 (spin in 2500’s) and curveball 75/76.  No hard contact, little contact at all off the righty in this dominant outing. To follow up the pitching performance, Chandler swung the bat well on Championship Monday (Trademark Pending) with 5 RBI and three hits on the day, regularly on the barrel.  Trevor Alons, RHP, Centennial HS Class of 2028 Lean framed sophomore with a quick, whippy arm.  Playing up a few classes, you might...
