The Winter Park Diamond Dawgs were the story of the season in the Florida League as the Dawgs set a league record for wins and winning percentage during the regular season before carrying that through the postseason to win the championship. Led by Pitcher of the Year Jack Wolgast (Southeastern), who secured the victory in the final game of the championship series, it was a summer to remember for Winter Park.

The Southeast Prospect Showcase is in its seventh year and the Florida League once again participated in a round-robin style showcase against the Valley League and the Sunbelt League. Top prospects such as Mark Townsend (Stetson), Jarrod Cande (Florida Southern) and Dalton Shuffield (Texas State) got a chance to show out in what has become an annual stop for scouts to assess some of the best draft prospects from the league.

Young talent was the story for some of the top prospects in the Florida League as out of the top five prospects only one, Jarrod Cande, is eligible for the draft in 2020. Gunnar Hoglund (Mississippi) is a former first round pick by the Pittsburgh Pirates (2018) while a trio of Stetson rising sophomores rounded out the list.
