The Waynesboro Generals were a force to be reckoned with during the regular season of the Valley League as they turned in a league best record of 31-11 to head into the playoffs as the No. 1 seed. Their dominance throughout the regular season was fairly evident as the Generals’ manager Zac Cole was named Manager of the Year and three of the top five prospects in the league played for Waynesboro.

The Charlottesville Tom Sox, however, were the story of the postseason as they captured their second Valley League title as they defeated the Strasburg Express in a best-of-three series. Aidan Nagle, the No. 3 prospect in the league, was named the MVP of the season while Tristen Bayless, the No. 8 prospect in the league, was named the Pitcher of the Year.

Forty-nine players with Valley League experience were selected in the 2019 MLB Draft, headlined by 2017 participant Kyle McCann and the top 2018 prospect drafted in Graham Ashcraft. Nine players were drafted in the top 10 rounds and it’s a testament to the depth of the Valley League with participants from across the country including the Atlantic Coast, Southeast and Midwest, among other regions.
